The Lonely Road
by Connie Hannagan
The lonely road that seems to have no end,
You search for something as you go round each bend.
You're wishing and hoping as the road unwinds,
That you'll find something that brings peace of mind.
It's dark and so lonely and things are so still,
Your heart feels so heavy; your eyes start to fill.
You're walking that road gazing into space,
Crying out hopefully that it will bring you someplace.
Terrible problems you feel you may have,
If you just stop and think; they're not all that bad.
All you need is a little hope and a little prayer,
Then step off that road, and let God take over from there.
